Bainbridge Island is located in Northwestern Washington just a ferry ride away from Seattle. This little town packs a huge punch and is the perfect weekend getaway in any season!
Where To Stay
The Cozy Hobbit House-Hip Camp
If you’re looking for a cozy unique stay- this is it. Located just outside of the city limits sits this adorable little cottage. The property has a farm and the cottage itself sits behind the owners property. The owners did such a great job of making us feel comfortable while giving us our space. There’s a cozy fire pit, games, and a bathroom. Staying in the cottage was an unforgettable experience! If you’re looking for a more traditional stay The Marshall Suites are also a nice option.
Where to Eat
This town has tons of options, so it’s hard to narrow it down but here’s a list of my favorite must try places!
Pegasus Coffee
The store front of this coffee house in fall is literally what dreams are made of. It is the most adorable place I have ever visited, from the brick to the ivy it really doesn’t get much for aesthetic than this. But the food here is also great! I highly recommend the orange scone and hot cocoa it is absolute amazing! Oh and we can’t forget about their chocolate covered croissants! So good!
Ba Sa
Definitely hit Ba Sa for a hearty warm lunch because their menu is absolutely stacked! You truly cannot go wrong with any item but the bao and pho were some of my favorites. I also had a delicious ginger lemonade while there which I believe was seasonal. They have indoor and outdoor seating so something for everyone and the vibes were nice casual and cozy.
Bruciato
Dinner at Bruciato is the perfect way to sum up a fun day of exploring. The vibes were casual, cozy and the restaurant was dark and sultry with an amazing playlist. The start of this place though is the pizza! It’s cooked fresh right there infront of you in a wood oven stove with the freshest ingredients. It was so hard choosing which one to get and I easily ate a whole pizza to myself. The funnest part of this restaurant is the experience of cutting your own pizza with the shears they give you, and if you’d like to take a piece of that experience home to remember they sell the pizza shears there at the restaurant. And come one what’s better than a hot fresh pizza!
What To Do
Halls Hill Lookout and Labyrinth
The labyrinth was so easy to get to just right off the rode and a very short walk down an easy trail. The stones are so beautiful and it was so peaceful walking along the labyrinth with the beautifully forested area all around. There were benches and sitting swings along the trails. Perfect place to take a nice walk and connect with nature.
Bloedel Reserve
This place is was amazing with very cool landscape and ponds. It was a pre-ticketed entry when I visited so be sure to book in advance! It is mostly outdoor so be sure to bring an umbrella or proper coat if the weather isn’t ideal, but it’s worth a visit rain or shine.
Downtown
Bainbridge Island is the perfect place to shop til you drop! There are so many cute shops around every corner, from bookstores to spice shops and everything in between. You will definitely be able to find something here that strikes your fancy! I highly recommend checking out Lively Olive Tasting Bar where you can do some free olive oil and balsamic tasting. It was so fun and the staff was so friendly and helpful- they really knew there stuff! The prices were great too.
Bainbridge Gardens
Bainbridge gardens is located right at the edge of the city and was such a gem of a shop. In the fall they decorate the place so adorably and have an awesome pumpkin walk through the gardens. There are tons of greenhouse areas to look through as well as a very thoroughly stocked gift shop with all sorts of Knick knacks, gardening tools, yard art and houseplants. The plant prices were great which makes this a must stop for all you plant people like myself. They even had some harder to find houseplants that I wasn’t expecting to find in a shop that caters mostly to outdoor planting.
Wether you’re staying a night for a quick getaway or savoring a long weekend, Bainbridge island is sure not to disappoint. It has just the right amount of city while also have nice natural areas and beaches to peruse. Be sure to catch a view of Seattle from across the bay!
